ARTIST STATEMENT
I draw movement from the endless inner landscape of sensation and imagination. This wellspring of heart, this path of intuition resonates with my participation in the world.
In organizing movement ideas for presentation; I embrace the full range of possibilities for movement in space. From choreographed concerts to community spectacles, my dance works have appeared in theaters, schools, old mills, factories, storefronts, in ponds and fields, hallways, town halls and on covered bridges.
Sometimes I make dance scores that help people create their own dance event, tribute or expression of a collective idea. It is the process of discovering the right fit of people, place and context that inspires my dance works.
