PROJECTS FOR THE HOLDEN-LEONARD- MILL

PROJECTS FOR THE HOLDEN-LEONARD- MILL, is the joint effort of a group of artists sponsored by the Bennington Area Arts Council in a space donated by the Southern Vermont Development Corporation. The projects suggest ways to experience and appreciate an extraordinary interior and an exemplary nineteenth century textile mill. They are clues to what is and what was here, and are intended to draw attention more to this situation than to themselves.

"The scope of the light in the space engendered my projects. Studying its passage led to thoughts on time, then history. The floor, window and wall drawings hope to connect current conditions with the past." Bill Botzow

"I've tried to create a structure for looking more closely at details of the space, developing an intimacy with the huge area, and giving the viewer the chance to leave something of themselves, an addition to its history."
Meg Cottam
