1. Meet Bill's Studio 9:30 AM.
2. Leave for Pittsfield about 10 AM.
3. Arrive Pittsfield and prepare for public installation, 11 AM.
4. Public Installation, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM. A. Bring any needed equipment into space Kevin cameras Bill pine needles + template for pine needle figure B. Bring leaf figure into space and unwrap. C. Individual activities Meg movement with leaf figure Bill build pine needle figure Kevin camera work D. Clean up and remove equipment 12:45.
5. Go eat Lunch 1 - 2 PM.
6. Consider working in windows from 2-3 PM or return to VT.
DORMANCY - February 4, 1998 plan
1. Meet Bill's Studio 9:30 AM.
2. Leave for Pittsfield about 10 AM.
3. Arrive Pittsfield and prepare for public installation, 11 AM.
4. Public Installation, 11:10 AM - 1:00 PM. A. Install ice figures leaning against building. B. Bring any needed equipment into space; Kevin - cameras + color Xeroxes from first visit, Bill - tools and hardware for hanging plastic tarp/canopy of outlined figures. C. Prepare space for receiving tarp/canopy. D. Bring tarp/canopy to sidewalk in front of windows, spread out and cover with outlined figures from alley end towards door. Add in shadow or lying outlines of passersby if possible. E. Roll up tarp/canopy, bring inside and hang over pine needle figures. F. Meg and Bill trio with leaf blimp moving it to a sitting position. G. Create with erasable markers outline images on plate glass windows in blimp space.
5. Clean up and remove tools/equipment 1:00.
6. Go eat Lunch.
DORMANCY -March 2, 1998 plan
1. Meet Bill's Studio 9:30 AM.
2. Leave for Pittsfield about 10 AM.
3. Arrive Pittsfield and prepare for public installation, 11 AM.
4. Public Installation, 11:10 AM - 1:00 PM. A. Prepare space -- place feed sacks, white buckets, tools (scissors, duct tape), add coat hangers etc. as needed. B. Meg and Bill scoop pine needles from south figure into feed sacks, add duct tape tabs to plastic template and transfer to window. Repeat with next two figures. C. Move feed sacks to leaf figure. D. Canopy wrap dance - Meg turns inside plastic from far end as Bill unhooks string from wall. E. Meg wiggles out of plastic "cocoon" in area before leaf figure. F. Move photos, blocks and rearrange in three south windows. (Bill moves and places blocks, Meg moves and places photographs). G. Eraser dance in north and interior window - Bill erases, Meg moves. H. Wrap blimp on bias with plastic canopy, I. Collect and remove photos (Meg in suitcase), blocks (Bill in buckets), then clamps, hooks, tools etc. J. Appliqué rolled leaf figure with plastic figures from windows. K. Don work suits and wrap blimp in blue tarp, remove it and everything else to lobby. L. Vacuum floor and wash windows.
5. Go eat Lunch. (Consider lunch break before vacuuming and window washing).
